Mt Annan Eyecare offers Digital Retinal Imaging, where a high-resolution digital photograph is taken of the back interior portion of your eye called the retina.
The screening can show abnormalities that may threaten normal vision such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
It also provides invaluable baselines, that become part of your record so we can closely monitor even the slightest progression of any abnormalities, from one exam to the next.
We offer OCT scanning, which is a sophisticated scanning system that provides highly detailed images of the internal structures of the eye.
Whilst other testing procedures show the surface of your retina, an OCT scan differs in that it reveals what is below its surface. An OCT scan also measures the thickness of your retinal nerve fibre layer, a measurement that is a reliable indicator of the health of the optic nerve.
We use this technology as part of our consultations ,as we can detect eye disease early and monitor your eye health optimally.
